Happiness is not determined by what’s happening around you,

but rather what’s happening inside you.  Most people depend on others to gain happiness,

 but the truth is, it always comes from within.

 

 

1.       Congratulations to Anna Gomes on winning  first place in the HCOE Innovative Business Challenge! 

2.       Cheerleading signup in the office.

3.       Senior Inspirational:  Thursday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Assumption Church on Berding Street in Ferndale.  Reception following the service.

4.       Seniors lunch at Mrs. Dolfini’s house:  all SENIORS and staff are invited to Mrs. Dolfini’s house on Wednesday, March 29 at lunchtime.  (the rest of you will get a chance when you are seniors).

5.       Science Journal Missing!  Russ Jackson’s Science Journal is missing.  If anyone has seen it or “borrowed” it, please return it ASAP!  A candy reward is being offered.  No questions asked.  Just please return the journal.

6.       Summer job working outdoors at the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge Complex in Loleta from June 24 through August 16:  15-18 year olds should apply.    Two, 5 person crews (one in Arcata and one in Loleta)  $8.00 per hour.  Applications available on line at www.fws.gov/humboldtbay or contact Ken Griggs at Kenneth_griggs@fws.gov or you can call 733-5406.  May 31 is the deadline.

7.       Friday Night Live Swim Night!  Friday, May 24 from 7-9 p.m. at the Arcata Pool (water slide available).  The bus will leave at 6:00 p.m. from the school parking lot.  Sign up in the office by Wednesday, May 22.  It’s free!!

8.       Grady Titus: thank you for turning in all of your golf gear.

9.       Summer School:  If you need to make up credits in summer school, please see the counselor.

10.    Junior/Senior Picnic is on Friday, May 31st!

11.    Senior Questionaire:  seniors, please complete the questionnaire and turn it in to Mrs. Gothier – NOW please!

12.    FFA Awards Banquet on Wednesday, June 5th at 6:00 p.m. in the Turf Room.

13.    Humboldt County Teen Court:  early diversion opportunities offered for first-time, low-level juvenile offenders. Teen Court offers opportunities to offending and non-offending youth to positively contribute to their communities and to empower youth to be accountable for their offenses through restorative justice processes.  This is done through peer accountability, education opportunities, youth leadership trainings, AOD Brief Interventions and a youth court where teen volunteers hear real juvenile criminal cases and determine a restorative sentence that Teen Court monitors.

14.    California Conservation Corps: in Fortuna – limited time job opening available, 30-40 hours per week.  Term is for a total of 60 working days.  Duties include general office tasks such as answering phones, receiving mail, assisting with fleet administration, processing workers’ compensation documents, timekeeping, etc.  Position to begin immediately.  Interested parties email resume to Brenda.syverson@ccc.ca.gov.  No phone calls please.

May Madness

 

Starting May 1st there will be a daily drawing for the prizes shown below.  When you purchase a ticket from PaSTA you will have many opportunities to win one of the prizes, and even if you win a prize for one day, your name will be re-entered for further drawings for the rest of the month.

 

Tickets are $10.00 and the money will be used to support the Safe and Sober party at the end of the year.  All Ferndale High School students are invited and encouraged to attend the Safe and Sober graduation party.
