Assemblies and End of Quarter FunTwice a month , Jr. High students meet in the gym for an assembly. At these assemblies, teachers make announcements and review current and up coming activities.Students often play games that are organized by the school's Activities' Committee. At a recent assembly, nearly 80% of the Jr. High students received honor roll certificates. On the last day of each quarter, junior high teachers and students take a break from their usual routine and go on an outing. Some of their adventures have been a trip to Centerville Beach, to the movies, roller skating, and bowling.

Eighth Grade BuddiesAt the beginning of each year, eighth grade students are assigned a kindergarten buddy. Twice a month the classes get together for activities that reinforce what the kindergartners have been learning in the classroom. The buddy program helps foster a sense of community within our school. |

DancesJunior high students enjoy planning and attending several school dances a year. In September, a BBQ dinner and dance is hosted by the 8th grade and their parents. A more formal dance is held in the winter and is hosted by the 7th grade, while other dances are planned by groups throughout the year. The last dance of the year is the graduation dance that is held on the last day of school. This dance is held at the Community Center with a live disc jockey and always has a special theme, that is a surprise for the graduating class. Last year's graduation dance theme was, "Night in the City, New York style". |
